In a country of 350 Million people, one nutjob goes on an insane murder rampage, and suddenly the left sees this as an opportunity to confiscate everybody's guns for the good of the collective. The Left sees this as symptomatic of our society rather than what it really is; one mentally ill sicko. We want to believe that we could have somehow prevented this tragedy if only we understood what the shooter was thinking.
As Chris Rock so aptly put it, "Whatever happened to plain 'ol 'crazy'?"

The only person at fault here is the shooter.

Of course "Dr" Phil chimed in and said that it's because of video games.

Although the gun control thing is politically motivated from a tragedy, I can't say I disagree with the idea of somehow governing sales of guns to people that have been institutionalized or deemed as unstable.

The big problem is that we DO have laws that prohibit mentally unstable people from buying guns.

They need to start enforcing the laws that are in place. A nice start would be a thorough background check and a natl data base that lists people who are mentally deficient. I know that smacks of Big Brother, but it has to be done.

We have a bunch of pathetic leaders who say one thing and do another. They pass tough immigration laws and then the govt doesnt enforce them. They pass gun laws and then ignore them.

People like Rosie and other celebs disdain guns, yet surround themselves w bodyguards packing heat. So, guns for the rich, and tough luck for us little people.

Dr. Phil is a whack boondoggler. Blaming books, movies, and games is an easy out for fools like him. Now, it may be that those things DO influence crazy people, but the rest of us should still be able to enjoy games where we can beat and kill hookers, take their money and then shoot it out w the cops. Just good clean fun. It's the American way, man.

But some people are just plain crazy and they belong in mental institutions.

To paraphrase Chris Rock again, "Thats why we have them ride on the short bus. That way when they go nuts they are only hurting other crazy people. "
