HuffPo Doctors Headlines To Suit Agenda

They can't help themselves over at the HuffPo. They take any story, change the headline to get their moonbat base worked up, and then sit back and watch the fireworks as their uneducatedreaders spew nonsense.

Here is the original headline from the NY Times

Here is the HuffPo headline that links to the NYT story:

Here is how the libtard moonbats feel about your right to defend your life and property against thugs. Is it any wonder that they don't feel we have a right to defend our country?

And welcome to the NRA's Amerikkka supported by the Reichpublicans because this is a gODD send to the toothless cousin lovin wingers out there - now they don't never gots ta leave the trailer sep fer bullets 'n beer
Why do refucklicans hate america so much?

Any neighbor or stranger that happens upon your property without explicit permission can and must be killed immediately. Thankfully we live in a country where this can be done without consequence.

Your 3 year old child, during a game of hide-and-seek tries to hide in the bushes on your neighbor's propery. He, after seeing someone run across the bushes, shoots and kills your child. He goes scotfree as there is no crime committed there.

Okay, my cat is my property, correct? I have a nieghbor who is always trying to hurt my cat. I can shoot my neighbor, correct? To protect my cat which is my property.

Let's see how you would like the law this way:
Iraq passes a similar law. There are no exclusions.
Murder of American forces entering homes would be legal.
Now you like the law.

I´m not surprised. Christian bushbaby puts oil profits and his fortune above human life. The christian repubs say private property means more than human life.
By: monstruo on August 08, 2006 at 06:32pm

So if I see someone throwing a cigarette on the ground, I can shoot him to defend the Earth, which technically is my property?
By: NoOtherWay on August 08, 2006 at 06:32pm

Well if that's the case, everyone grab a gun and let's meet at the white house. It still belongs to the people doesn't it?
By: RepublicansAreTraitors on August 08, 2006 at 06:47pm

Defense of PROPERTY? Absolutley not. It is both morally wrong and absolutely stupid to allow people to kill to keep their property.
By: BUMbO on August 08, 2006 at 07:04pm

Interesting folks in the party that supported the invasion of a country to steal their oil supports shooting to kill people who invade their homes to steal their TVs.
By: Thalia on August 08, 2006 at 07:28pm

Killing for "property" seems so primitive.

Take a look at the map on the original website which shows those states, and you'll see we in NC are surrounded by folks with guns allowed to shoot first and ask questions later, with a new standard that says you can kill someone if you think they threaten your property, rather than just your person as most self defense laws used to say.

I gotta admit that kind of frightens me, NC doesnt have a self defense law or statute, if I shoot someone threatening my family or myself I go to prison, in florida you can shoot someone because you think he or she may steal your rubby ducky. I'm all for the right to bear arms, and I think self defense should be legal, but defense of rubber ducky shouldnt even be considered, property, of whatever types are just things, and as such mean nothing. Human lives are worth defending, yours or someone you care for, or even someone you see threatened on the street, but property? please.

I don't have a problem with people having the right to defend themselves or their property. I don't feel that people will be taking it to the extreme of shooting first and asking questions later, in most cases.

The only time you can not defend you property is when a developer wants your land for the good of the community.

I guess common sense & restraint aren't something some people can relate to because the government hasn't told them to or educated them how to use it.

Myself, I think I would defend myself or my family any way I could if threatened. Could be run, cooperate, baseball bat or gun. Just depends on the situation. But if they want to kill they had better be ready to die themselves just in case.

Joe, you are so ignorant sometimes. You can't kill somebody if you 'think' they are threatening to take your 'rubber ducky'.

You can kill the meth-head maggot who breaks down your front door and threatens your family. You can kill somebody who comes at you with a baseball bat. When somebody breaks into your home in the middle of the night, dont think for one second that you arent in very grave danger.

Why shouldnt you be able to defend private property? What are you supposed to do? I had my home burglarized 3 times in a one yr period. I have a concealed weapons permit. On some days I park my car around the corner and sit in my house waiting for his 4th visit.

It will be his last. Thats the chance you take when you are a lowlife piece of shit criminal who preys on innocent hard working people. We are much better off with them being dead.

Now if you want to sit back while somebody loads up all the property you have worked so hard to acquire, then knock yourself out.

I will not hesitate to kill them.

Joe, I noticed you failed to comment on the HuffPo distorting yet ANOTHER headline from a news source.

I didnt think it was necessary to comment again on your ridiculous headline ranting. What can I say that I havent already? headlines are attention grabbers, we all know it, you and I are equally as culpable in it as Huffpo is as well as every blogger, newspaper, tv news cable news...blah blah blah. all you show is hypocracy by calling someone else out on it. Besides, I only comment when you are clearly wrong or being disengenuos.

As for the shoot first ask questions later laws, with the added bonus that since the law is on the books the cops dont have to investigate a shooting further than asking what happened... There have already been several questionable instances, including one involving a taxi driver and a drunk he took home from a bar, they got into an argument and the taxi driver shot the guy, as the taxi driver was in his vehicle and the other man was unarmed, under the old laws, he would be guilty of voluntary manslaughter at the very least, since the old test was "can you safely retreat". Under the new law the taxi driver walked away with no charges or even a serious investigation. Do you really think that's okay? If I shot you on the road in florida or any other of the states that have adopted this, I could simply tell the cops you attacked me, and that would be the end of it. Are you sure you are happy with liberals having that leeway?

As to the protection of property, are you seriously suggesting your dvd player is worth more than a human life?

I dont have much worth stealing, my only vehicle is a beat up work truck, my computer equipment and power tools are probably the only thing worth much, and my neighborhood has lots more promising houses to rob.. but I would happily give them away if I was asked nicely enough, I can always make more money to buy more tools or electronic junk. I could never replace a human life, no matter how far they may have fallen into drugged depravity or whatever. To me its a simple case of real value. Things I buy dont have any value to me, people on the other hand do have value.

Perhaps this is just one of those cultural divides, my culture consisting of holding life sacred as a stuanch agnostic, and property as base things to be discarded as needed and yours of my stuff is more important than your life as a ....hey, what ever happened to the conservative christian culture of life anyway?

"can you safely retreat".

That means cut and run. It means when the bully shows up, you run. When you encounter aggressive behavior you should beat a path out of there rather than standing up for yourself.

Sounds like the liberal mantra to me.

I was in Huntington Beach one day and these white skinheads were out by the pier. One of them had a hammer and he would run along and then WHAM, hit somebody with the hammer and yell "White Power!". He seriously injured several people.
I can tell you right now, if I had a concealed weapons permit back then, I would have dropped him right there.

Blogger joe said...

ahh but in your skinhead analogy I am in almost complete agreement with you, someone in clear danger and you capable of stopping the violence, though shooting him in the leg would be as effective as dropping him on the spot. I cant help but find killing a bit extreme unless there is no alternative.

The safely retreat bit is the legal test for self defense, (or used to be until these new changes)it has nothing to do with liberal idealism of any kind.

I like the way Jon Stewart put it on the Daily show, (paraphrasing since I cant find a clip) :

Jeb bush said " it doesnt make sense to retreat in the face of danger" while signing the new self defense statute into law.

Jon's rejoinder?

Of course not, which explains Florida renaming its Hurricaine Evacuation Route's to "pussy promenades".

You have every right to defend yourself, if you are on your own property, you have no viable retreat left and use of deadly force is permissable as any animal will defend its nest.

On some days I park my car around the corner and sit in my house waiting for his 4th visit.

That's vigilatism and very obviosly against the law. I hope you dont kill anyone, as there is now published evidence of your illegal activity.

damn these fingers and rotten editing:

vigilantism

LOL, liked the Jon Stewart line. Still laughing....

Sorry, but I have to disagree with you on the vigilante thing. Sitting in my own house, which I own, and waiting for a perp to return and try to rob me again is not vigilantism, it's taking out the trash.
