A Nation of Laws or Mob Rule?

Let's be honest for a moment. Exactly what are all the protesters protesting? It's really quite simple: the possibility that the U.S. might actually enforce its laws.

The protesters believe that we are a country of MOB RULE. Laws don't apply if you can get enough people into the street and garner some media attention. It's amazing that 12 million people can waltz into America, take to the streets and demand that we convey upon them all the rights and priviledges of being a legal citizen. In their opinion, a show of force trumps the law in America.

Gone were the Mexican flags for these demonstrations...protesters were urged to put them away and they were given U.S. flags. What a charade.

You are being duped.

Wow, again you start with the laws, Why is it that they are only important when its something you agree with?

However, you seem to miss that most of those protesting are College students, yes there are immigrants with them as well, some legal and some illegal, But primarily college students, or havent you heard about all the threats for truancy action, as if they could call a paying student truant for not attending a class they paid for.

We're all being lied to, why does it keep seeming you are on the side of those doing the lying?

Speaking of a nation of laws, good ol' GW has a habit for breaking and bending them like the Hulk going after a rebar factory.

His questionable (at best) usage of the presidential signing statements
may destabilize the checks and balances built into our government permanently. Time will tell.

But then again, he's a PNAC whackjob like most of the top men in his organization.

What a boondoggle!

Almost pissed myself laughing...they are primarily college students? No, Joe, MOST of them are illegals. I am watching it on the news right now. They are using a TRANSLATOR to address the crowd in Spanish.

Threats of truancy are for the HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS who are using the protests as a means to cut class. The state loses federal money each day for each absent student.
Please refer me to the link that shows colleges are threatening students for protesting. Colleges dont care if you cut class, its your money down the drain.

What a nice world it would be with President Joe. Mob rule, open borders, cut and run foreign policy, free everything for everybody, citizen or not.

This is about enforcing our laws. We need not be intimidated by the threats of a mob.

Well, I spent the day at our local protest, and I didnt need a translator, the majority of them were college students, and every time I turn on the TV I see more.

Why do you continually twist my words and just make things up? I have pointed out time and again that we do not live in a democracy, you however never seem to make that distniction, I have mentioned several times on this site that democracy is mob rule and that's exactly why we dont have a democracy.

You might be right about the truancy, but I didnt see any kids in the streets, only adults, and that didnt stop the police from riding by squaking about it on their loudspeakers. They also said something about revoking pell grants and student loans, but I'm pretty certain that was just a scare tactic. Though these days I am not so sure.

you say: What a nice world it would be with President Joe. Mob rule, open borders, cut and run foreign policy, free everything for everybody, citizen or not.

But I never once said any of that. Yes I think borders are for children who need to stay in their playpen, adults, all adults, no matter who they are or where they are born are free by nature, all you can do is take away freedoms, you cant grant them. And here's you, the great american patriot who never listened to the end of the pledge of allegiance:

For Liberty and Justice for ALL

get it, ALL! not southern baptists, or US residents, or north american citizens, or rich white guys, or any group you might want to name. This is supposed to be the shining beacon on the hill, not a step away from nazi germany.
AS for foriegn policy, When did I say we should cut and run? I'm pretty sure I said we should withdraw to a safe distance, and provide whatever support was needed but only on a support basis. It only takes a few months to train a soldier. Bush has had 3 years, if they arent trained we arent doing it right.

Free everything for everybody? what are you smoking? Where can I get some? Do I think we need to seriously rework the way some things are handled? absolutely, does that include the government or (the taxpayers subsidizing a few things? absolutely. SPecifically I think we should provide all americans with the same luxury you and I have, access to free information. It should be High speed educational access, with complete library access and everything else useful. but as it would be a government funded educational tool, it would obviously need to block access to non-educatonal material, and very definately block all the porn and just plain garbage out there. But as an addition to our eductaional system i am all for it,we could take 1 percent of the non-military defense spending and pay for free access to everything by everybody, but I'm not even saying we need that much.

Why arent you complaining aobut the Canadian border, we actually had 2 of the 9-11 hijackers come across through canada while Zero came across the mexican border. Where is the outrage??? Maybe its just that as usual this is nothing but petty racism.

So this is a nation of laws? all well and good, lets start holding some of the criminals accountable, and lets do the Christian thing and clean up our own problems first, like the criminal actions of the Current administration, the breaking of every Non-proliferation treaty we ever signed, the imprisonment of us citizens with no legal recourse, the domestic spying, in which EVERY signal passing through the AT&T netowrk was and is being monitored, The Use of force in Iraq, which Never met the standard for legality here in the US much less the UN, Which as you may know, we brought into being to protect the world against exactly the type of thing we've just done.

Who is saying anything about being intimidated? I was down there in the streets and there was no intimidation going on. Or at least not by the protestors, I got pushed aside more than once by our local thugs ehh I mean cops. If you are afraid its all on you, nobody has been threatened, well except the protestors.
I even saw some dumb redneck burning a mexican flag, which is illegal in Mexico by the way, unlike the burning of our flag which is completely legal no matter where you do it. And yet not a single american flag was burned, apparently they have a lot more respect for us than we do for them.
