Fair and Balanced

Honesty. It's not the HuffPo's forte. They dutifully follow the mainstream medias lead. They fail to understand that you aren't considered a miltary leader if have RETIRED. I would at least have some inkling of respect for the story if the headline had read 'Retired Military Leaders.."

If you are the president of a corporation and you quit that job, you cease to be a leader at that company.

There are over 9,000 retired military generals and when SIX of them gripe that's headline news to the leftwing media.

Isn't it interesting that over 200 decorated swiftboat veterans were virtually ignored by the mainstream media and when they weren't being ignored they were being lambasted and ridiculed by the press. But SIX retired generals spout off and it's like Moses returning from the mountain with the stone tablets.

Where did you get the 9,000 retired generals number? I've been searhing for a source on that for 3 days and I've not found a thing.

As for the swiftboat veterans, they got plenty of airtime, despite the fact that most of them had never even met Kerry, much less served under him or with him... which one would think was a prerequisite for saying what a dishonest guy he was.

I must have missed in the article itself where it said these are current military leaders. They are however, recently retired generals, and as I've said I dont have a source for how many have retired in the last 6 years, but I'm betting its not anything like 9,000, and nobody retiring before that would have anything to say as they didnt experience it.

I guess I shouldnt be suprised that you continue to be dismayed by the Huffington Post's headlines, but I have to say, your headline for this post seems to be a bit disengenous as well. You certainly arent being fair and balanced bringing up a 527 political action group active 6 years ago in smearing another veteran.

As for the Six retired Generals themselves, they have every right to speak their mind, and Huffington Post has every right to give them that chance.

I was wrong on the 9,000, Joe. There's over 8,000 active and retired generals, not 9,000 retired.

Dan Rather wouldnt even report on the swiftboat vets accusations for over a month. He refused to air it.

Of course they have the right to speak their mind, but lets tell it like it is:

"6 Retired Generals" is much more honest than "6 Military Leaders"

ehh I was just typing and not thinking obviously the swiftboiat vets were from the last election cycle not the 2000 elections.

Youre correct about the accuracy of "6 retired generals" but headlines arent about accuracy, they are attention grabbers. Its the whole, "you dont judge a book by its cover thing...
