First of all lets admit something: we have found WMD's in Iraq. We have found various sarin shells and chemical weapons but not stockpiles.
Here's what I dont get: I keep hearing "Bush Lied" from the looney left. They would have us believe that the president knowingly and purposely lied to us in his push to attack Iraq.
If that were true, then he would have certainly known that once we were in Iraq we would fail to find WMD's. Why would he set himself up like that? It was his first term and he faced re-election. So he would blatantly lie and then worry about the fallout later? I've heard the moonbats over at the HuffPo and MoveOn declaring that he is worse than Hitler, that he is a facist, a liar, an evil genius, the antichrist, and more.
Then why didnt he just fake WMD's? If he is so evil and dishonest, if he would go to all this trouble to start a war to 'enrich his friends' (the most ridiculous assertion of all), or because he 'likes to send soldiers to their deaths', then why wouldnt he at least take some simple steps to ensure that his lie went undetected? Its not like it would be very difficult. "Oh, look what we found buried in the desert!!".
If he is surrounded by handlers who are so much more intelligent and in control than he is, then why didnt they attend to this minor task?
Because he didnt lie, thats why. Our intelligence, our allies intelligence, the previous administrations intelligence, and our own leaders in congress all thought he had WMD. And I dont believe any of them were wrong.
Does anybody in their right mind honestly believe that Saddam would let those weapons be confiscated by the US military? Does anybody in their right mind believe that Saddam never had such weapons? One of his former generals has stated that they had a 747 making non-stop sorties to Syria with weapons before the Americans invaded. Iraq had the 5th largest army in the world. Where are their weapons and munitions?
Another general says that after the invasion began, Saddam told his military leaders that he had destroyed all the WMDs and they were distraught to hear this. Saddam told them he wanted the U.S. to believe he had them.
If Bush was lying, and if Bush were really evil incarnate, he would have gone the distance and planted WMD's to make his case rather than take the heat he has been taking from the moonbats.
There will be only be tough talk of impeachment. Even if the Dems somehow take back the House this fall, they are cowards and they will talk the talk, but they will not put their careers on the line trying to impeach a president who had only the best interests of the nation in his heart.
Hell, they've been too cowardly to vote their conscience so far, why would they start now?

if Bush genuinely believed Iraq had WMD, then why hasnt he genuinely apologised for being misinformed?? Why hasnt he acknowledged that the invasion of Iraq was on false premises? Bollocks! It was the best lie to get public support behind him cos the public wouldnt have given a toss if his only rallying cry to invade Iraq was to evict yet another dictator.
