Vast Right Wing Conspiracy Unfolding

It seems to me there are plenty of interesting stories that deserve attention but today Arianna has chosen to place Tucker Carlson, of MSNBC in her crosshairs.

Her blog heading for today:
The Full Disclosure Tucker Carlson Isnt Making

"Ever since Scooter Libby was indicted, Tucker Carlson has had a lot to say about the central players in the legal drama. On his MSNBC show and on his blog, he's been unfailingly supportive of Libby and damning of Fitzgerald. But with all he's had to say about the case, there is one thing that Carlson has failed to mention: That his father, Richard Carlson, is on the advisory committee of the Libby Legal Defense Trust, the GOP-heavy-hitter-laden group that has so far raised $2 million."

So what? Tucker Carlson is not a 'news reporter'. His show is political commentary. He would likely be defending Libby regardless of his father's affiliations with the defense fund. This is a non-issue, Arianna.

I love how the HuffPo is playing up the angle that there is something fishy about a defense fund and that something must be amiss if so many "GOP-heavy-hitters" are contributing time and money to his defense.

Not a peep from the HuffPo about the Clintons numerous defense funds, created due to the shennanigans they pulled during their joint presidency. In fact, Clinton scrapped his original defense fund because donations were limited to $1,000. Then he started a new 'defense trust' that was allowed to accept donations up to $10,000. DNC-heavy-hitter, Terry MacAulliffe played a large role in this charade. He was also a central figure in the investigations of 1996 Democratic fund-raising and into Teamsters union election financial improprieties.

Clintons legal bills for the Whitewater investigation and Paula Jones sexual harassment suit totaled more than $4 million. The fund had taken in a total $8.7 million by 2001, with the Clintons' legal expenses totaling more than $11.3 million.

Arianna, people who live in glass houses.....

Something tells me if MSNBC waved a show in front of Arianna's nose, she's change her tune in a hurry.
