The HuffPo uses a headline "GOP Bill Prompts Hundreds of Thousands of Protesters".
I have a hard time understanding why this has resulted in so many people taking to the streets. Lets see, we want to pass a law that says violating our immigration laws is a felony.
We want to build a fence along the border to prevent people from entering our country ILLEGALLY.
During these dangersous times, we find it unthinkable to allow an Arab state to manage our docks but its alright to let 1,500 complete strangers sneak across our border each night.
To suggest that Americans hate immigrants is completely dishonest. These arent immigrants, these are illegals. One protester proclaimed, "They are picking on the weakest link in society, which has built this country." They built this country? They may have helped put up the drywall, but to claim they built the country is asinine.
Try this: Sneak into any country in the world with forged passport and papers misrepresenting who you really are. Get yourself a job. Then take to the streets with an American flag and demand that ballots be printed in English, demand free healthcare and higher paying jobs, demand that they honor your forged documents by awarding you a drivers license. Demand the right to vote. Demand that they educate your children and provide all the amenities afforded legal citizens.
Then when they say, "ENOUGH!", take to the streets and label them as anti-immigrant racists. Make no mistake, most democrats feel the same as most republicans on this issue. But, the democrats dont have the cajones to do anything about it.
